Luka was born and raised in Japan and is currently settled in London. Her passions are music, art, and histyory. She especially finds beauty in the glamorous world of vintage culture. She use her passion knowledge to express herself in many different ways.
Her unique singing background started in Nagauta (Traditional Japanese music which accompanies the Kabuki theater) and was in an all female band in high school. Later, she joined a jazz band in Japan. She fell in love not only with jazz songs but also the style: gorgeous dresses, perfect hair, make-up and charismatic personalities such as her idols Julie London and Peggy Lee. She styles her own hair and make up and sometimes sews her dresses for stages. Her soft, warm voice has elegance and she sings jazz standards with romantic feelings.
She has been working as a professional make-up artist for 10 years and her work is published in several well known magazines, such as Vogue Spain, L'officiel, Clash, Rollacoaster, Wonderland, The Rake, Schön etc. Her clients are Topshop, Google, HSBC, Corinthia Hotels, Vodafone, Select Model Management. She has been shooting in the UK and all over Europe.
She is also passionate about researching the history of make-up and is a regular author, her articles are published in The Vintage Woman Magazine. She also appeared as cover model for the second issue for the magazine “Identity” and was interviewed as being an Asian in the community. She says “It doesn’t matter what size or ethnicity, knowing what looks good on you and what makes you happy is the best inner beauty you can get. I admire the confidence I found in vintage style."
